Being responsible matters at Homesense

Together with our family of brands, we are reducing our carbon footprint and environmental impacts by pursuing initiatives that are good for the environment and help us to achieve our shared goals.

Our Work

Net Zero

TK Maxx & Homesense together* have a goal to reach net-zero
greenhouse gas emissions in our own operations ** by 2040.

*Inclusive of TJX Europe’s operations

Scope 2: are indirect emissions from the generation of purchased energy

Renewable Energy

We sourced 100% renewable energy last year* across TK Maxx and Homesense**
stores where we manage our own electricity.

Waste Management

At TK Maxx and Homesense we diverted 99% of our operational waste* from landﬁll last year.

Our Initiatives

Net Zero

We plan to continue to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by implementing energy efficiency initiatives and purchasing renewable energy.

Since 2018 we have been fitting stores and distribution centres with LED lighting which bring a proven reduction in energy consumption, and this programme continues.

We have reduced our greenhouse gas emissions by 85% from FY17-FY23 in our own operations.*

Waste Management

We have a range of initiatives which include recovery and recycling centres where we reuse and recycle items such as hangers, cardboard, and plastics.

In addition to our diversion of operational waste, we are proud of our Give up Clothes for Good campaign at TK Maxx, a textile collection programme which we have been running since 2004, which helps to keep resources in use for longer.
